Three turkeys having fun

The new blogger set up has me thrown for a loop, hence my lack of coherent or many posts at all. But! I can still get pictures up:) Its been a busy whirlwind here lately...with grandma and grandpa Crosby we have 7 people in less than 700 square feet! Its been super fun to have company though, can't complain at all. Very glad we get to keep them for almost 2 weeks! Here are some pics from the past week or two, to try and catch up!

This is only Marianna's second time on a real bike without training wheels. Methinks she takes after her papa and not her mama.

Savoyarde Fondue!

We finally had a fondue night! Some of the cheese was pricey so it was definitely a treat, but yummy indeed. The girls liked the fact that it was a "fun meal" but weren't super into the strong flavors of the cheeses.
Our spread consisted of Savoyarde Fondue (made with four cheeses and cooked with white wine), grainy bread, veggies and pineapple. Tasty!

For some reason this last picture would not turn. I kept getting an error when I tried to turn it...sorry! Livvie loved the pineapple, but the cheese, notsomuch.

Daddy made a nice picnic for the kiddos on the deck the other day while I was at school. Looks like the kids had a blast! I think it was nice for daddy to have the noise outside (rather than inside) too:) Louis apparently enjoyed his first grilled cheese sandwich.

Cooking ensemble

Louis has a new favorite activity: stirring in bowl type containers with a spoon or the like. Its really cute. I imagine he learned it from the sisters cooking at his level, but maybe from mommy too. Its the one safe thing he likes to do (you know...as opposed to rooting through the garbage, swishing in the potty, etc.;)

Okay, so I asked Daniel to take a picture of this because this is seriously how I have to study. This is just to illustrate why I end up each week asking myself when I ever studied?! But going to class is the best way for me to learn anyway.:) And I love those kids of mine.

Chasing the Carnaval

I was holding Louis so the video is bad, but you can get a little idea that we were walking through the streets of Chambery following the fire-juggling and music. It was good even though it was a challenge to keep everyone safe and happy;)

They were pretty stinkin' cute playing school together in the bathroom. This is our "bath" room (also a sink) that doubles as a playroom and Louis' naptime room (we move his pack n play in there a lot).

Not sure who is the teacher here. But either way, Louis is surely going to know his ABC's (in french and english) soon.;)

French pre-carnaval

In class I heard about the "carnaval" coming to town tomorrow. There was also a pre-carnaval happening within 20 minutes (by foot) of our apartment that sounded like fun. The kids are usually bouncing off the walls at night anyway so I thought I would brave it while Daniel did part 1 of our weekly shopping trip(we go to two stores by bike each week). It was fun, a little crazy but good to "do something" with the kids. Getting out to do something just for fun has been very rare since we arrived for various reasons. And it was FREE!

There was lots of fire-juggling and lots of walking through the city (they kept moving the "parade" to draw more attention I think.)




The girls had a lot of fun dancing around at one of the stops. They had plenty of energy so I was glad we went. Louis however did not and was very cranky. I had to hold him and push a double stroller...not awesome. On the way home he screamed for a few minutes but then fell asleep (thank goodness). The girls had a good time though and we had popcorn and read books when we got home. That's about as fun as it gets around here!:)
