Safeway NW Deals for 2/25-3/3/09

This is a big week for Safeway...

4 days only (Wed-Sat.) take $10 off your purchase of $50 or more! This is after club card prices and supposedly Safeway coupon prices, but before manufacture coupons!

For a super good deal combine the above deal with the following:

Spend $25 on participating frozen foods (marked with a blue house tag) and receive $10 off your next purchase of frozen foods! Let me know if you want to know where to find a list of participating items. Edited to add: Here is a link to the list, its in post #70!

*Also, I've heard that you can combine the frozen food purchase with the Buy 4, Save $5 deal: buy 2 Gorton's Seafood Selections for $3.99 each and 2 Ore-Ida Frozen Potatoes ($2.99 each?) you receive an instand $5 off your order total! The Ore-Ida Potatoes count toward the $25 on frozen foods, but the Gorton's Seafood Selections do not. Did that make sense?

*Plus if you do all of the above, you'll meet the $10 min. purchase so you can use your super coupons (see below) and get free Pepsi, super cheap butter and almost free cereal!

Good Deals (no coupon needed!)

Ranchers' Reserve Beef London Broil $1.89/lb

Lucerne Milk $1.99 each when you buy 2

Fresh Asparagus $0.98/lb

Fresh Express or Eating Right Salad Blends $1.98 each

Super Coupons (min $10 purchase)

FREE 2 liter Pepsi product!

Lucerne Butter 1 lb $0.99!

Raisin Bran or Kellogg's Frosted Mini Wheats $0.99
Use $0.70/1 coupon from last week's insert
Final Price $0.29!

I will definitely be shopping at Safeway this weekend!

I went yesterday to stock up. I save over 55%. But you can't stack the Kelloggs coupons, it says on there you can't double and the checker let me know. :(

Hi Nicole! Great job on the savings!! The "do not double" on the coupon is a little different that what I was mentioning, but the cashier probably was just trying to do what she thought it meant. Some stores will double a single manufacture coupon, which is different than using both a store and a manu. coupon--which Safeway policy allows. Your manager may have a different policy-sometimes they set certain policies that are different than the store at large. Aren't the deals great this week!?

Your energy is amazing :-) I haven't bargain shopped in several weeks- just got the basics and the VERY best deals. The good thing is that we are so stocked from previous deals that it's not hurting us any, and I'm saving a little moolah ;-)
But Gabe did ask yesterday- apparently he's noticed... and I just said I can't do it with the lack of energy lately (read: lack of brain power!), so now he has volunteered to help- which excites me because then after baby brother comes, he will have some experience putting two and two together to save! :-) naye

Thanks for this list--just heading out to my Safeway now! I like to make sure I'm not missing anything. I found out a few days ago that my store will not accept printable coupons-bummer! :( I had no idea. It's literally only 4 blocks from my house--otherwise, I think I'll probably stick with Albertson's and bring Safeway's coupons w/me. Wish they'd change their policy. They don't double coupons either, like other regions.
Anyway, I was wondering if you have the link for the frozen food list--I haven't seen that anywhere.
Thanks for the great work!
Jen

Thanks for the list Rachel. I'm off to Safeway in the AM. I am just not ready for confusing frozed food bagain deals. Maybe in a few months and practicing more with this frugal life. :o)

Someone posted about Safeway not accepting printable coupons...thats no good. Does Albertsons take safeway coupons? I'll have to look into that.

Thanks, Rachael! It was pretty easy to spot at the store, too. The Safeway deals this weekend were awesome--I stocked up on a ton of meat and also took advantage of the free pepsi, cheap eggs, butter, etc. Thanks for posting such a comprehensive list--I've passed your name on to a few people who have emailed me looking for specific NW store lists! It's very helpful!
