Daddy's staying home with our girlie soon

In a little over two weeks we are doing something we never thought we would do. I am going back to work full time and my husband is going to stay home with our baby girl.

His helicopter company (well its not his, but you know--like the place he works) will be closing soon so we'll be trading places. He'll be staying home to take care of our munchkin for almost 2 months while I finish out the school year in my job as a School Psychologist. Its not what we planned, but it will work for us for this time in our lives. After that we will be training to do overseas mission work, so neither of us will be working at a "real job" for awhile. We're all about flexibility around here!

yes, flexibility is many time a virtue. I'm glad that will work for you. Blessings to you and your family.

Funny how God always rearranges our lives for us...not what I planned, but....

Maybe since you will be a missionary soon, He is getting you used to not making too many plans and to learn to go with 'His' flow.

God be with you. It will be such a blessing for your husband to have this special alone time with your daughter.

At least one of you gets to be home with her. Is it going to be hard being away all day? At least you know she is in the best possible hands besides yourself-her daddy. He is going to have so much fun with her! And only 2 months until you get to be back home with her right? That will go by so fast!!

I am going to be sad to leave her even more than I do now (I've been working about 20 15-20 hours a week away from home for 2 months now) but I will still get to nurse her since I live close enough to my work to come home partway through the day. It is certainly not our first choice to do this, but for a short time we felt it was the best option (and the one that would allow us to keep our health insurance and have one of us care for our sweet girl!). We just realized that we have so much to do to get ready to move that we needed one of us at home full time anyway just to get ready for that! So it was God's way of working out what we thought was a bad situation!

My husband is the stay at home parent in our family, and it really works out well for us! I am tired of him being referred to as Mr. Mom, though...
